From 1st March 2023, Medicare Better Access to Mental Health Care covers up to sessions per calendar year that can be provided to a person other than the nominated person on the MHCP plan. For children and adolescents with a valid MHCP plan, this means that we can have up to 2 Medicare rebated sessions with their parents. These changes recognise the important role of family members in supporting their children and adolescents.

COVIDSafe requirements for face to face appointments

The Victorian Government has confirmed that in line with the easing of restrictions, from 11.59pm Thursday 21 October, psychologists working in private practice in Metropolitan Melbourne can resume face-to-face services for routine care. These services can be resumed with COVIDSafe requirements in place.

To ensure the safety of our staff and clients, we have several measures in place as a precaution including:

  • We wash our hands thoroughly between each appointment.

  • We take temperature of each attendant on the day of the appointment.

  • We sanitise therapy room and high frequency touch areas such as door handle between each session.

  • We require all attendants to sign into Service Victoria via QR code.

  • We will wear mask and practice social distancing during our consultations.

  • We will open the window in the consultation room to improve ventilation.

  • Consultation times are scheduled at specific intervals to minimise the number of people in the waiting room and to allow time to      sanitize between appointments.

Our requests:

  • Prior to your appointment, please let us know if you have been in close contact with someone who tested positive in the last 14 days. We can either cancel or reschedule our appointment to Telehealth.

  • Only attend your appointment if you are symptom free. Do not attend face to face appointment if you are unwell with any cold, cough, or ‘flu like symptoms’. Instead, we can organise a Telehealth appointment.

  • Wait in your car until 5 minutes before our appointment time.

  • Where possible, only the child attends the appointment.

  • In line with Victorian Government advice, we request that individuals aged 13 and older wear a mask at all times and strongly encouraged individuals between 5 - 13 to wear a mask.

Telehealth

Telehealth remains the preferred method of service delivery wherever clinically appropriate.

Clients can choose to continue with Telehealth appointments.
